The initiative is called “Terre che rigenerano” and it is not just a brand, but the essence of the holiday experience that Anglona and Coros aim to offer to visitors.
At Ploaghe, in the former Capuchin convent, the GAL presented the marketing plan and the brand identifying the Tourist Destination of the Territory.
Through the An.Co.R.A project, the GAL aims to create an integrated tourism offer that meets the needs of today’s increasingly demanding visitors, who are seeking to regenerate themselves away from work stress and big cities.
The event opened with the GAL President, Gian Franco Satta, emphasizing that “things are finally being done seriously to help the territory grow.”
For the first time, the territory is equipped with a serious tourism planning tool from which to start, as explained by GAL Director Simone Campus in a detailed presentation.
Andrea Sini, the Project Coordinator, illustrated the Plan, which shows how to structure a network to systematize services with clear objectives aligned with demand.
Thanks to GAL, businesses now have a marketing plan that addresses two main needs: provide coordinated marketing guidance and build an integrated tourism offer.
Sini presented data showing that tourist flows in the area are growing, along with the number of non-hotel accommodations, and that the presence and quality of tourism services is good.
From listening to businesses and insights gathered in workshops in April and May 2022, the common ground between supply and demand emerged: the experience—living the territory, immersion, and contemplation of nature—which is the foundation of the slow tourism approach.
Hence, the strategic proposal with its mission: Anglona Coros – Destination for Slow Tourism Experiences, giving the area an identity with the brand “Terre che rigenerano”, which connects to the tourism products to be developed with about 40 businesses that have expressed interest in participating.
These products will revolve around slow tourism experiences—leisurely experiences that intertwine local gastronomy, culture and attractions, natural environments, and outdoor activities.
The strategic objectives are essentially fourfold:
– Increase the competitiveness of businesses in the wider tourism supply chain.
– Promote sustainable and year-round development of the destination.
– Facilitate synergy with other economic sectors.
– Expand opportunities for economic and demographic growth in the GAL area.
This approach is shared by the Chamber of Commerce, represented at the event by Director Pietro Esposito, who endorsed the An.Co.R.A. strategy, appreciating its approach while reflecting on some challenges, particularly regarding the socio-economic context, territorial continuity disputes, and air connectivity. He reaffirmed the Chamber’s ongoing support for businesses through various initiatives and projects.
“The most important challenge,” explained President Gian Franco Satta, “is to move into the 2024–2025 period with active promotion and commercialization of tourism packages, supported by marketing that accompanies their launch and development.
This process has involved and been shared by many operators who believe not only in their own activities but also in the potential of the territory. The area must develop the tourism supply chain, enrich multichannel services, and extend the tourist season, offering an alternative to the sea with a true dive into the identity, nature, and historical-architectural-religious attractions.
Today, we can officially say that a strong and motivated business network has been born, which will play a leading role in the tourism development of northern Sardinia.”
