Inside everyday life of the past

As you cross the threshold of the Palazzo Baronale, you step into a house shaped by effort and ingenuity. The route rises floor by floor. On the ground level you walk past hoes, ploughs, harnesses for draft and pack animals, set along the corridor leading to the courtyard. In a single room you find old weights, tools for making cheese, wine and oil. Objects used every day. Upstairs, the spaces take form. The kitchen, the bedroom, the only rooms of the peasant home. Then s’apposentu, where women sewed, embroidered and welcomed guests. In another room the sound changes. Tools of the carpenter, the blacksmith and the cobbler tell the story of the most widespread trades in Ossi. On the second floor, the archaeological section brings the visit to a close. Here you understand how the village once managed to sustain itself.
